The Love Is Mutual

Today's Pawsome Human: Cindy Ojczyk - Two Lives Changed: The Mutual Benefits of Dog Fostering

Letā€™s start with a massive THANK YOU (again)!

The ā€œFur Baby Bookā€ as I love to call it hit the Amazon bookshelves on October 7th and itā€™s now officially an International Bestseller šŸ’„šŸ™ŒšŸ‘

The book wouldnā€™t have meant any less to me without the ā€œtitleā€ but a bit of ā€œoutside validationā€ does warm the heart :-)

My heartfelt gratitude goes to everyone who got a copy and got us there šŸ™

Available as Kindle and paperback (and no, you donā€™t need a Kindle device, there is a Kindle app for your phone, tablet or PC, or you can read with the Kindle Cloud Reader)

Unboxing the Fur Baby Book book ..

After moving house more times than I care to count, I appreciate books in a format that isn't heavy to carry

but ...

... I HAD to get a paperback copy of My Fur Baby Wrote This Book.

I'm way too proud of the tear-jerker we produced - Christine Passo, Haakon Rian Mancient Ueland, Paolo Trepiccione and me, under the expert guidance of master wordsmith Lonnee Rey, with a touching foreword by Ellen Whiteside - holding the pen for and with our wise teachers ...

- Maya Ray who stole the hearts of everyone she met, and left a hole in them so big it changed her human's path and mission

- Sammy who doesn't just bring gifts to cheer up her human but literally saved him when he needed it

- Trollheads Nessi who found the one person who "gets" her (as much as she gets him) after other families and even the police found her "too much to handle"

- Good Boy Cai whose journey from skittish, fearful pup to gentle, wise old soul carried priceless lessons for his human (i.e. ME :-)

- Lulu who turned a set-in-his-ways dog person into a cat lover, and looked after him through thick and thin

If you know that a dog is never "just a dog" and a cat is never "just a cat", you'll love this book (makes a great gift for the animal lovers in your life, too)

And if you or your animal would love to share your story in a book like this ...

... I can highly recommend Lonnee Rey's guidance.

"Know Your Dog's True Nature through Traditional Chinese Medicine's Five Element Archetypes" with Elizabeth Anne Johnson

24th October, 7 pm Europe (6 pm UK, 1 pm ET, 10 am PT)

(HERE is what time that is for you)

You might remember Elizabeth Anne from a recent podcast episode.

In this masterclass, you'll learn how the Five Element Theory, traditionally a Chinese medicine approach, applies to understanding and supporting canine personalities.

Elizabeth will explain each elementā€”Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Waterā€”detailing the traits, behaviors, and needs of dogs corresponding to each element, and how that will help you improve the relationship to your dog(s) and the dog's wellbeing.

You'll walk away with practical tips and new insights to help you give your dog the best life.

This weekā€™s Pawsome Human: Cindy Ojczyk - Two Lives Changed: The Mutual Benefits of Dog Fostering

If you've ever thought, "Oh, I admire people who foster dogs. I don't think I could do that .. mine would all be 'foster failures' šŸ˜›," you might just change your mind after listening to this episode ..

Iā€™m talking to Cindy Ojczyk, a passionate dog lover and rescuer, living near Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Cindy shares her deeply personal journey of coming into the world of dog fostering, starting with her accidental adoption of a dog named Snuka during college.

We explore the emotional rollercoaster that fostering can be, as Cindy recounts her family's experiences in dealing with the grief of losing a pet and the therapeutic role fostering new dogs played in their lives.

Cindy discusses how her family navigated fostering challenges, the impact of adopting pets after experiencing loss, and the bittersweet journey of letting go.

She provides insight into the fostering process, its emotional demands, and the lessons learned in balancing family life with fostering responsibilities.

Cindy also shares details about her newsletter 'Like People, Like Pets' on Substack, aiming to inspire potential fosters and adopters by showcasing the enriching symbiotic relationships between humans and pets. Tune in to hear how fostering can teach valuable life lessons and foster family bonds, even through tumultuous times.
