Good Bye 2024! Wishing you a great start into a magnificent New Year

Today's Pawsome Human: Wendy Sunshine - H.E.A.R.T. Parenting Principles for Puppy Problems

The Last Weekly Treat

.. for 2024 😛

I hope you had a lovely Christmas.

For me, it was the first without Good Boy Cai 😥 .. an odd mix of sadness and peace.

Sadness because “firsts” are always tough .. and peace because evertime the flashing lights and dry pop sounds of nearby fireworks interrupt a quiet evening hour, I think about how my wee Boo Bear (it’s what I used to call him .. still can’t say the words without tearing up) doesn’t have to deal with that stuff anymore and imagine him race around a lush meadow, chasing his mate Leo instead.

Interestingly, now Hada has started to shiver a bit when fireworks go off. Mastiff pup Lea couldn’t care less ..

Can’t believe the year is almost over.

New Year’s is going to be a quiet one at home again.

Given the choice between going out and leaving the dogs alone at home or staying in with the pups, the pups win every time 😛

How about you?

Party or peaceful paws at home?

Hit reply and let me know.

In any case, no matter how you choose to welcome the New Year, I wish you a happy start to a magnificent year 🎉🎉🥂🥂

This week’s Pawsome Human: Wendy Sunshine - H.E.A.R.T. Parenting Principles for Puppy Problems

Dogs are like children in so many ways.

A friend of mine is a therapist specializing in helping kids and teens with hypersensitivity issues. She developed a methodology, The Lafaya Way, to help them feel understood and navigate a world they often feel they don’t belong in.

So when I heard about Wendy Sunshine’s work I was intrigued.

In this episode, I talk to Wendy about her innovative approach to raising and understanding dogs through the lens of parenting.

Wendy shares her personal journey that began with a challenging rescue puppy and led to her writing the book 'Tender Paws.'

We delve into how her insights from child development and autism spectrum disorder (ASD) can be applied to dog training and care. Wendy articulates her 'HEARTS' framework, which includes healing the body, enriching the brain, and supporting dogs as individuals, offering listeners practical tips and emotional support for creating a harmonious relationship with their pets. Join us for a heartfelt conversation that promises to reshape how we interact with our furry friends.
