Our Dogs Are Our Greatest Teachers If We Care To Listen

Today's Pawsome Humans: Jess Adam and Colleen Kersey

Not long to go now ..

Panic to Peace - Holistic Approaches to Easing Anxiety in Rescue Dogs

A virtual conference for dog lovers: Feb 19-25, 2024

It’s getting closer and I’m super excited.

The event is for those who have adopted a dog who is anxious, perhaps reactive, struggling to overcome trauma or separation anxiety.

And it’s for those who are considering adopting a dog but might hesitate because they worry about the “baggage” a rescue dog might come with.

I’ve invited wonderful experts who will give you kind, gentle, holistic, connection-based tools and solutions so you feel equipped to support your dog.

Here is what I’ve learned so far:

The virtual conference, just like the entire Soul Touched by Dogs project, is the result of having a bright spark of an idea and deciding to act on it without hesitation.

No time to overthink or second-guess.

The passion for the message and mission outweighed any reservations I might have had.

Will recognized experts want to participate in my event? Why would they listen to me?

Well, turns out, almost everyone I invited said yes 🙌

And hey, they don't have to listen to me anyway 😝

It's about me listening to THEM.

They're sharing so much wisdom and kind, natural, holistic ways to help your dog be a dog that's easy to live with.

Beyond symptoms, behaviours and quick fixes.

I feel grateful and hopeful.

It's wonderful to see how many people do brilliant work to help us have an amazing life with our dogs.

If you love dogs, you'll love Panic to Peace.

Btw. one thing everyone agrees on is that ..

.. rescue dogs are not "damaged goods"

They can suffer from anxiety just like any other dog can. And you can help and support them.

Stay tuned for more details 🐾

Can you relate? 🤣🤣

Who is your dog?

One thing a lot of the experts I’ve spoken to, for Panic to Peace or the podcast, agree on is that it’s important to know your dog.

A lot of problems stem from dogs getting in trouble for displaying behaviours they were bred for ..

Don’t punish a dog bred to protect their owners for not being friendly to strangers ..

Don’t expect a dog bred to herd sheep to be content on the sofa all day ..

If you’re not sure about the genetic makeup of your dog (I only know for my youngest, all others are mixed breeds) ..

.. there is a way to find out
