Dogs Are Forever

Today's Pawsome Human: Katy Conway - Don't Let Your Dog Suffer in Silence

Dogs Are Forever

“He’ll always be with you,” someone wrote to me in response to my post about Good Boy Cai crossing the bridge, 22 days ago now.

I knew it’s true.

It’s exactly what I felt, and still feel, when Leo crossed the bridge coming up to three years ago.

And yes, it’s what it feels like with Cai.

It doesn’t take the sadness away. It doesn’t make me miss him less.

But there is a sense of peace knowing that he isn’t “really” gone.

Now, this sense of “forever” brought me back to an idea I had before but didn’t act on.

Look what my “saved posts” list on Instagram looks like ..

I’m thinking of getting a tattoo 😛

I never went beyond “that would be nice” because I didn’t think someone could really capture the essence of my dogs, and I didn’t want just a generic dog tattoo.

Until I saw one on Instagram .. and you know what it’s like .. once you like one you start seeing more and more ..

So now I’m seriously considering it.

I’m still not sure 🤪 ‘

I would be my first one. I want a piece of art or nothing, so it's more about finding the right person, I guess.

What about you?

Do you have a tattoo of your dog(s)? Would you get one?

Let me know. Send a picture (or tell me why you’d never do it).

LAST CALL: Join us LIVE for "Think & Learn Zone (TLZ) - How to Know What Your Dog Needs" with Suzanne Clothier

6th May, 7 pm Europe (6 pm UK, 1 pm ET, 10 am PT)

A stressed dog (or person for that matter) can't learn.

But how do you know if your dog is in the Think & Learn Zone(TLZ), and thus open to training, or is "sticky" and needs help, or is completely out of the TLZ and management - not training - is needed?

If you’ve ever gotten this wrong (and who hasn’t?!) you know how frustrating that can be, both for you and your dog.

But how can you tell?

That’s what I’ll explore with Suzanne Clothier.

Bring your questions and join us!

Coming up …

Later in May:

Miranda Wimbush about stressing less for dogs and their people

Stay tuned ..

If there is a topic or expert you’d love me to invite, please let me know.

Hilarious: My Vet is Worth Every Penny

I stumbled across this comedian and this piece on taking the dog to the vet made me almost spill my tea .. so true 🤪🤪

This week’s Pawsome Human: Katy Conway - Don’t Let Your Dog Suffer in Silence

In this episode, I interview Katy Conway, a canine massage therapist based just outside Nottingham in the UK Midlands.

Katie shares her journey into canine massage therapy, initially sparked by her own dog's diagnosis with hip dysplasia and arthritis. She talks about her training at Galen Therapy Centre and with Dr. Edward Bassingthwaighte in Whole Energy Body Balance, emphasizing a holistic approach combining physical and emotional wellness.

We unpack the variety of conditions she treats, including arthritis, injuries, and anxiety among dogs, utilizing massage to improve their quality of life.

We clear up some of the typical misconceptions around dog care, particularly the impact of certain exercises on a dog's health.

And we touch on Katy's business's growth, transitioning from marketing to canine massage full-time, and her plans for offering online consultations and workshops.
